In the lagoon area of Yalova operates the Information Center of the wetland Yalova where members and volunteers of the Greek Ornithological Society offer the knowledge and experience to guests informing them of the importance and specification of the area as the first major wetland encountering birds in Balkan peninsula, when migrating in spring from Africa. From there, begin the roamings where the visitor can discover the different types of flora found in the region, following the appropriate signs “Nature Trail” and / or to observe and enjoy different kinds of wetland birds through bird watching, using appropriate equipment (field guides, binoculars and telescopes).
The protection of the area is covered by EU laws and directives on environmental protection.
“Nature Trail”
This is an educational path that starts and ends at the Information Center at the old pumping station. Visitors have the opportunity to tour in 8 different habitats of the protected area and discover the flora and fauna through environmental interpretation panels and signs botanical labeling.

Path for birdwatching.
It is a path that starts from the Information Center at the old pumping station and ends at the beach Voidokilia. Visitors may choose to go up the observation tower located in the center of the path.During the path you can observe and enjoy different kinds of wetland birds through bird watching, using appropriate equipment (field guides, binoculars and telescopes).
Distance: 2 km up Voidokilia, about 800 meters up the tower observation
Duration: 45 minutes by Voidokilia, 20 minutes up the observation tower
